A few days ago I found a sentence that I had written on the front cover of my notepad at the beginning of the year.  It said  “2018 is going to be my best year ever!”

2018 is going to be my best year ever

It has certainly been quite a year!

In May, following a fantastic trip to Las Vegas with our company, we found out that they had sadly gone into administration. At the time this was quite difficult to come to terms with.  It was an emotional time, as we had been running our business with this company for over 20 years.

However, I believe that everything happens for a reason and we now have a fresh start with another network marketing company called Oriflame and have seen a lot of success already. I have gone from selling floor cleaner to lipstick! Certainly a bit more glamorous!

I also started a dog boarding business!  I suppose it’s more of a hobby than anything, but it’s something I love to do, and is a great way to switch off.  It really does’t feel like work.

My daily routine has changed quite a lot too.  I am no longer home schooling my son, he has returned to his original school. My daughters are at school and college, and my husband is working full time on his business from his office.  So it’s just me……….which is something I haven’t experienced for 21 years! I quite like being in charge of my own time but its very different to what I am used to.

I feel like I am more passionate about personal development than ever…….I have read some amazing books this year.

Here are just a few of them;

The Beginning of Everything You Want by Sarah Morgan

The Beginning Of Everything You Want

This book is a fantastic reminder that the Law of Attraction is always working.  I have always believed this, however, like with anything, the key is consistency.  This book contains daily activities very similar to things I have used in the past, but the power is in the daily routine. Since starting this book I have been writing my “Dream Day Journal” every day (or most days!), writing down things that manifest as a result of the journalling, and writing a list of the things that I have been inspired to do.

I am so glad I got this book, the author has now written another book so I will have to check it out soon.

Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis

How To Be An Overnight Success

I had been looking at this book for a while, but somehow hadn’t committed to buying it. It’s kind of a biography, sharing the author’s journey of how she created a new skin care brand and took it to market. She proves that starting and growing her company was a far cry from an overnight success.  Being in the beauty business myself now, it seemed like a good choice, so when I received an email from Amazon telling me that it was on offer, I clicked to buy it.  I am still reading it, but found some valuable nuggets right away in the first few chapters.

MLM Nuts & Bolts by Jan Ruhe

I read this book years ago, gave it to someone to read, and never saw it again!  Recently, an old colleague of mine called me and asked if I would like all her network marketing books.  I jumped at the chance, and this was amongst them so I was very happy!  The book is written in such a style that I get inspired just by opening it up.

Tony Robbins

Sometimes I cannot believe that I have never read anything by Tony Robbins!  I don’t know exactly why this is, especially being the personal development addict that I am!  Recently, I noticed that his documentary “I am Not Your Guru” was on Netflix, so I started to watch it.  Since then, I have been constantly seeking out his YouTube videos.

He is an incredible entrepreneur.  He gives so much and is gifted in his ability to help people to help themselves.

Guided Visualisations

I have been doing a guided visualisation with Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association.  It lasts for 20 minutes and focuses on breathing deeply, repeating affirmations and visualisation. I believe it is really helping me.  I have always loved affirmations and believed that they have made a huge difference in my life, but coupled with the relaxation, they have even more impact.

I am very excited for Christmas, we are taking our three children to London to see our favourite musical, Les Miserables.  I am then looking forward to a relaxing break with lots of family time.

I DO believe that 2018 has been my best year ever, and I believe that 2019 will be even better!

I hope that 2019 will be YOUR best year ever too!

I hope you have a fantastic Christmas too and I will see you in the New Year!
