Today, amongst catching up on business calls and getting organised after our journey a few days ago, I made time for a bit of goal setting – my favourite pastime!
We moved into our first house when we were just 24, and it was at about that time that we were advised to write out our first list of goals. We didn’t really understand what we were doing at the time, but we went along with it anyway. We wrote down 3, 5 and 10 year goals, some of which we thought were completely out of our reach. 10 years down the line and we were able to tick off 95% of the things we had written down! Quite amazing really.
Anyway, soon after moving into our first house, I developed a passion for looking at show homes and would walk around them pretending that I lived there.
So today I decided to go and revisit some beautiful show homes that are located in the most gorgeous setting a few miles from where we live.
When I visit showrooms I talk to the sales person as if I really am considering buying one. It gets me into the feeling place of what it would be like.
When we first started looking at large homes, I used to feel that I shouldn’t be looking at something that was out of my reach. I even got asked once if I was looking for my parents!
Today I came away with brochures and photos, site plans and layouts. This is so important so that you can look through them time and time again and visualise your goal.
Everyone’s goals are different. Find out what it is that you are passionate about and then, if possible go and experience it for yourself and get into the feeling place like I do with my show homes. It’s so much fun!
Until tomorrow!
